Questions
What's included in website maintenance?
A care plan covers four jobs: keeping the site safe (updates, backups, security, uptime), keeping it fast (Core Web Vitals, caching, optimization), keeping it converting (GA4 and GTM tracking plus forms tested so leads don't slip through), and keeping you informed (a plain-language monthly report). Small content edits are included; anything larger gets scoped and quoted on its own. If you'd rather not run a plan, I also do one-off maintenance as needed.
Do I really need a maintenance plan for a WordPress site?
WordPress, its plugins, and its themes update almost every week, and most security problems trace back to something left out of date. If you're comfortable running updates, testing that nothing broke, keeping backups, and watching your tracking, you can absolutely do it yourself. Most business owners would rather that time go into running the business, which is what the plan is for.
What's the difference between website maintenance and hosting?
Hosting is the server your site lives on: the space and the connection. Maintenance is the work of keeping the site itself healthy: updates, security, speed, backups, and tracking. Good hosting keeps the lights on, but it doesn't update your plugins, test your forms, or tell you when your GA4 stopped recording leads. They solve different problems, and most sites need both.
Can you maintain a website you didn't build?
Yes, and a lot of the work is exactly that. The first step is a quick look at what's there: how it's built, what's out of date, what's already broken. From there I know what the site needs and can either take over maintenance on a plan or handle a one-time cleanup. You don't need to have built it with me.
Is there a contract, and can I cancel?
The care plan is month to month. There's no long-term contract, and you can pause or cancel whenever it stops being useful. The point is to make the site easier to own, not to lock you into anything. Design projects work the same way: you're never required to keep a plan to keep your site.
How much does website maintenance cost?
It depends on the site: a small brochure site is a different job from a busy shop with products and integrations. Rather than post a price that's wrong for your situation, I scope it from a quick look at the site and give you a clear number up front. The free site check is the easiest place to start.
